Jaya Gupta- Yes, this was my first attempt.
AskMeMetallurgy- When did you start your preparation for GATE 2020?
Jaya Gupta- I paid attention to the class lectures which helped me in clearing my concepts of the subject but I started serious preparation for GATE 2020 from mid of third year of B.Tech.
AskMeMetallurgy- What was your preference: Reading online (Laptop/Tablet/Mobile) or reading the traditional way (Books)? Or a mix of both?
Jaya Gupta- I prefer to study from books but for some topics, I referred to online sources.
AskMeMetallurgy- Have you taken any coaching or Online Mock Tests? How did it help?
Jaya Gupta- I did not take any coaching for GATE 2020 and did the preparation by self-study. Yes I joined the test series of TestUrself. It was very helpful as it helped me in analyzing my weak and strong topics. It provided a similar platform like the actual GATE exam and helped in clearing my doubts. The test series had a range of questions from easy to hard which made me mentally strong to tackle any sort of problem in the actual exam.

AskMeMetallurgy- What is your style of preparation and notes making?
Jaya Gupta- The strategy which I followed for GATE 2020 comprised of three stages. In the first stage I developed a basic understanding of all the topics and cleared all my concepts from standard books, then in the second read I prepared notes from the standard books and in the final month of preparation, I revised those notes and gave mock tests.
AskMeMetallurgy- What is the important topic that should be specially focused by the GATE Aspirants?
Jaya Gupta- I think the entire syllabus should be studied thoroughly, even the smallest topics should be given the time it deserves.
AskMeMetallurgy- Can you elaborate your daily timetable (When will you wake up, study, sleep etc) .
Jaya Gupta- I used to decide the topics that I had to study for the next day and tried to complete those as per schedule. I just focused on completing the topics whether it took 2 hours or 4 hours didn’t really matter and I always used to complete my daily quota of a 7-hour sleep, which was really important.
AskMeMetallurgy- What is your opinion/feedback about the askmemetallurgy website & Free Meta job/ Internship alert over WhatsApp?
Jaya Gupta- It is a good platform for metallurgy students to know about the vacancies in different PSUs and learn about the new developments happening in the world of metallurgy.
Thanks, Jaya Gupta for such an awesome Interview. We wish you an amazing career and a healthy life ahead.
