Diamond cubic structure has a basis of (000), (1/4,1/4,1/4) arranged in a lattice points. It can also be seen as pair of FCC lattices intersected at 1/4 th width.
The main reason why it is different from the crystal structures is because it Don’t have periodicity, I.e. if you take A atom move some distance(1/4) you find B atom say , but moving the same distance you won’t get any atom, then next atom C would be at 3/4 distance from A. This shows that it don’t have periodicity.
